I had of course heard of this movie for years but actually wasn't sure what to expect. It's not my kind of movie, but I've seen worse in this genre. (Or at least their first quarter-hours.) This is based on Patton: Ordeal and Triumph by Ladislas Farago, and Omar N. Bradley's A Soldier's Story. Francis Ford Coppola co-wrote the screenplay, and Franklin J. Schaffner directed.
