Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) is a sincere if flawed look at an upper-middle-class couple's reaction to their daughter's interracial engagement. Putting Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutchner in a dumbed-down, race-flipped remake was not the brightest idea, although I could've stuck with it if it were at least funny. But when I'm more invested in the cabbie, and even a couple canoodling in the background of a crowd shot, it's a bad sign. And, no, it's not funny. Kevin Rodney Sullivan directed.
