Not my kind of movie, although I couldn't help seeing it going in a dark-comedy direction with Leary cast as the stepfather.  David Mickey Evans directed, a decade before National Lampoon's Barely Legal.

A strong contender for the worst comedy I've ever seen, not only is it painfully unfunny but nearly every character, major or minor (the marriage counselor partially excepted), is thoroughly unlikable.  Still, the Christmas decorations (yes, it's a Christmas movie, in March) are pretty.  Ted Demme directed, seven years before Blow, which I enjoyed comparatively (a C-).
