This seems dated (and I don't mean because it's 20 years old but because it would've felt dated in the '70s) but innocuous, and I can kind of see why it was a big hit.  I would've stayed with it if it were funny, which it could've been.  Joel Zwick directed but failed to quite bring it up to endearing sitcom levels.
