I disliked all the characters, especially the protagonist.  (And this may sound shallow, but Helen Hunt looked terrible for 47!  I thought she was much older than the bland actor playing her husband, but it's really only four years.)  Richard Levine wrote and directed.

Apparently this turns much darker after I tuned out, but what I saw was a poor schnook of a janitor going to stay with his ex-girlfriend in a town where everyone is a little bit off.  (Which sounds like a comedy.)  Jake Goldberger wrote and directed.

I liked the first ten minutes or so of this as a slice-of-life high school story, but then of course the pompous actor (Cumming) had to dare the protagonist to leave her comfort zone.  Adam Salky directed.
