This seems well-made-- the pseudo-documentary style is arguably much smoother than in Star!-- but it's hard to watch such a despicable main character.  (Stratten seems like a supporting character in the first quarter hour.)  Bob Fosse wrote and directed.

I think I had this on VHS at some point (taped off of TV), but it always felt like a letdown compared to Annie Hall, and that's putting aside the whole "dating a 17-year-old" aspect.  Anyway, I didn't hate it this time but, unlike Annie, it's not worth revisiting.  Woody wrote, directed, and stars.
