I found this so hard to follow and random that for the first ten minutes or so I thought it might be sci-fi.  Bumped up a notch for the psychedelic medley that includes Shelley Duvall's "He Needs Me."  Paul Thomas Anderson wrote and directed, a couple years after Magnolia.
