I saw this a few times as a kid but never really warmed up to it like I did to the '70s sequel, The Shaggy D.A. (which I own on DVD). Watching it today, I think it's that, one, none of the characters is particularly sympathetic, and two, it has a choppy feel. Oh, and three, it needs more Annette.
This is based on Felix Salten's novel The Hound of Florence and directed by Charles Barton.
