While there are certainly worse movies with the Muppets, this one didn't quite click with me.  The songs are OK, the comedy a bit weak but not terrible, and Dabney Coleman remains the go-to '80s movie comedy asshole.  The quarter-hour I spent was not unpleasant, but I didn't want more.  Frank Oz directed and of course voiced various characters.

Even at the time, this was a lesser successor to The Muppet Movie (1979).  Watching it now, I winced at some of the jokes and found the songs unmemorable, although the energy is high, and I did like the photo of Kermit and Fozzie's father.  Jim Henson directed and of course voices Kermit and others.

I of course have known about this movie since the time, but I've never been in a hurry to watch it, due to my ambivalence about Jim Henson productions.  Anyway, I found the story dull and the look not as great as I'd been led to believe.
