I've watched this once before, but it just felt really downbeat today, not funny and not sexy.  Still, yeah, there are recognizable faces to spot, although I only did a quarter-hour's worth.  Beatty stars and co-wrote, while Hal Ashby directed.

With its touches of stationhouse humor, this plays (at least in the first quarter hour) almost like a grittier Barney Miller.  Note that this was 25-year-old Lee Grant's first movie, as the Shoplifter.  William Wyler directed eight years before Ben-Hur.
