Could've been worse.  This is based on Catherine Ryan Hyde's novel and directed by Mimi Leder, who did a fine job with On the Basis of Sex, but this is more on a the level of Deep Impact.

This is a solid biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, focusing particularly on 1970, a life-changing year for her and the country.  I did feel that the story tried to juggle too many characters, losing some in the shuffle (like her students and even her son), but overall I was entertained and enlightened.  Mimi Leder directed, twenty years after the forgettable Deep Impact.

*Apparently this turns into sci-fi later, but all I saw in the first quarter hour was tepid political drama and kind of interesting backstage news cycles.
