You know the drill by now. I'm not going to like a Tarentino movie. This one got bumped up for the brilliant casting of famously deadpan Steven Wright as a radio d.j.
The first quarter-hour is relatively watchable for Tarantino, helped by the use of humor, the '60s details, and of course the lack of graphic violence.
Well, you knew I wouldn't go for this, but I will note that the '70sishness both drew me in and repelled me by how it's used. Tarantino wrote and directed.
Apparently this turns into a horror movie at some point after I tuned out. Anyway, I bumped the grade up a notch for the surreal liquor store exterior. Tarantino co-wrote and plays Clooney's brother, but Robert Rodriguez directed, as he did Desperado the previous year.

This is my first Quentin Tarantino movie, but I was less surprised by the violence than by the assumption that the viewers were morons who, one, needed things spelled out, and two, don't know what a German accent sounds like. The music is of course the best thing about the movie.
