I'd avoided this film for years because of the celebration of criminals and violence, but the badness of the first quarter-hour is surprisingly the acting by Beatty and Dunaway.  I would've gone lower with the grade, but the look of the movie is generally good, except that Dunaway doesn't look the slightest bit 1930s, especially her hair.  Arthur Penn directed.
