This kicks off the A's on this blog, in that it's filed under "Abbott" for Abbott & Costello. The script by Lou's brother Pat has a framing device that's actually less plausible than what I saw of Jack and the princess. (I didn't stick around for the beanstalk.) A young actress, at the urging of her actor boyfriend, hires a babysitter from an employment agency and they send, without much of an interview, "Jack" (played by Lou), who falls asleep while the mentally precocious 8-year-old boy reads a bedtime story to him. Then we go into unimpressive color for Jack as "Jack." Note that there's a TV in the living room, but just as furniture; we don't see anyone watch it.
Jean Yarbrough directed.
